Sv. Andrija (also known as Svetac) is an isolated island on the open sea, west of Vis. To its south lies the uninhabited islet Brusnik, a volcanic island of exceptional beauty, formed of igneous rocks—like the island of Jabuka.
It’s one of the Adriatic’s most mystical and energetically distinctive islands, often called the island of solitude.
The island’s character
- completely wild, with no tourist infrastructure
- powerful geological and “energetic” presence
- surrounded by deep, dark, crystal-clear sea
- a place long known to fishermen and traditional families who once lived here independently
Why is Svetac special?
- an island of isolation—almost mythic
- ideal for diving, exploring the underwater world, and sea currents
- raw, monumental nature and hypnotic landscapes
- one of the places where you feel the Adriatic’s most “ocean-like” character
You don’t come to Svetac for tourist content.
You come to experience the elements.
Sv. Andrija (Svetac) is an island of pure wilderness and deep silence—remembered as an encounter with primeval marine power and the unique spirit of the open Adriatic.
Svetac feels like the boundary between land and infinity.
Silence here has a physical density. On Svetac, silence isn’t silence—it’s the moment when the pulse of your blood becomes the only compass.
